"The Gym" opened in 1992 CJ Bunyan was a student attending Sacramento State. Small by normal gym standards, The Gym was 4000 square feet and featured two cardio bikes, a 500 sq ft aerobic area with several machines and some free weights. "The Gym" opened in 1992 CJ Bunyan was a student attending Sacramento State. Small by normal gym standards, The Gym was 4000 square feet and featured two cardio bikes, a 500 sq ft aerobic area with several machines and some free weights. In 1998, CJ moved The Gym to its current location acquiring over 10,000 square feet. He added dozens of weight machines, independent trainers, tanning room and new cardio equipment. In 2005, CJ brought on partners to help complete improvements. Rocki Nelson, Chris Bower and Bob Ryder all were active in the improvements and operation of The Gym. Together, they pride themselves on providing a high quality facility at a good price. The Gym tries to do everything possible to help members get the most out of their workout. We'll go out of our way to make sure you enjoy your visit, by providing a friendly, non-intimidating club where you'll feel comfortable exercising.
